The Pueblo Brownfields Assessment Work Plan supports the Unites States Environment Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Strategic Plan which is from the EPA grant period of October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023. The Work Plan was revised January 20, 2023. The target areas of this project focus on the oldest area of Pueblo, which is located in downtown. There are three sub areas of focus which include the heart of downtown with recreational assets like the Pueblo Riverwalk, the western section of downtown which are home to rail sites and have mix-use infill development and the third area is the decommissioned Pueblo Power Plant and surrounding sites.
