The Urban Renewal Authority of Pueblo, in cooperation with the City Planning and Public Works departments, is initiating a project to beautify Lake Avenue corridor between St. Mary-Corwin Hospital and Pueblo Boulevard.

Lake Avenue served as the main roadway (U.S. 85) into the City of Pueblo from the south until the early 1960's. Prior to the construction of I-25, this roadway arterial was a thriving commercial corridor.

The URAP is working closely with property owners and the city to plan for and finance pedestrian friendly improvements to help stimulate the business environment, as well as restore Lake Avenue's prominence within Pueblo.
