The project area encompasses 1.7 miles of Fountain Creek from the confluence with the Arkansas River to 8th street. The objective is to protect this reach of Fountain Creek as an open space corridor and greenbelt. This property is currently in the City of Pueblo's ownership and is tremendously underutilized. To ensure that Fountain Creek becomes the recreational focal point that the east-side neighborhood envisions for this reach of Fountain Creek, it is imperative that the east-side Greenway recreation master plan be developed simultaneously with the other projects.
