Board of Elections



The Board of Elections is comprised of 2 appointed members and the City Clerk by virtue of office. Appointed members serve 4-year terms. Current members include:
  • - City Clerk (indefinite member)
  • B. Gloria Gonzales - Term expires June 1, 2020
  • Alvin Rivera - Term expires June 1, 2022

About the Board

The Board of Elections recommends such rules and regulations as necessary for the conduction of elections for approval to City Council. It also provides for:
  • Absentee voting
  • Appointment, removal, compensation, and terms of judges of elections
  • Ballots and sample ballots
  • Canvass of returns
  • Issuance of appropriate certificates
  • Determination of the winner in case of a tie vote
