Administrative Review

For administrative review of exterior alterations of local landmarks and local historic districts.

A pre-application review with staff is encouraged. If the plan conforms to the Standards, then the staff may administratively approve the request and "sign-off" by email. Administrative review typically involves small projects, fences, paints, roofs, signs, and solar panels.

Email or visit the office and bring the following:

  • photo of the existing historic resource
  • description of scope of work
  • manufacturer cut sheets (specifications) of the proposed materials

The staff planner will respond within two business days.

If the pre-application materials are  complete, then the staff planner will review according to the Standards of Appropriateness and then make a determination.

If the administrative review results in affirmative findings of fact, then the staff planner will "sign-off."

If there are negative findings of fact, then the staff planner may require a formal application for Certificate of Appropriateness.
