Arrest Warrants
Common Situations
There are a number of situations in which the City of Pueblo Municipal Court will issue arrest warrants. The more common situations encountered by the City of Pueblo Municipal Court are as follows:
- If someone fails to appear for any scheduled court appearance date in which appropriate service of process has occurred, a failure to appear arrest warrant will be issued.
- If someone fails to comply with any court orders or court ordered conditions, a failure to comply / contempt arrest warrant will be issued.
- If someone fails to pay any court imposes fines or costs, these fines and costs will be forwarded to collections. A warrant will NOT be issued for failure to pay.
The Warrant Process
If an arrest warrant is issued, it requires law enforcement officers to locate and arrest the person who is named on the arrest warrant. Whenever an arrest warrant is issued, the court will order the imposition of a warrant fee in the amount of $35. If for any reason a second warrant is issued, the warrant fee then becomes $100.
- Juvenile case warrants - Whenever an arrest warrant is issued in a juvenile case, the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles requires the court to order the imposition of a Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles Administrative Processing Fee in the amount of $30.
- Outstanding deferred sentencing warrants - Whenever an arrest warrant is issued in a case in which a deferred sentence is outstanding, the deferred sentence will be revoked and the conviction will be entered. Whenever an outstanding arrest warrant exists, the Department of Motor Vehicles will place a hold on the drivers license of the person named on the arrest warrant. In most cases the hold will be applied to out of state driver's license also.
- Traffic-related warrants - Whenever an arrest warrant is issued in a traffic-related case, the Colorado Department of Revenue, Division of Motor Vehicles requires the court to order the imposition of a Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles Administrative Processing Fee in the amount of $30.
Clear an Arrest Warrant
In some cases you can clear an arrest warrant without being arrested by appearing in City of Pueblo Municipal Court Clerk's Office during regular business hours and posting a bond in the amount required on the warrant or by paying the amount required on the warrant towards the fines and costs imposed.
