Lifeguard Certification Classes

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification classes are for anyone wanting to be a lifeguard. After the successful completion of the class you will be certified in lifeguarding, CPR, AED and First Aid for the professional rescuer. Successful applicants will also be encouraged to apply for a lifeguard position with the City of Pueblo. 


Pre-requisites: must be at least 16 years old by Friday, May 27, 2022; must be able to swim 150 yards of front crawl and 150 yards of breaststroke without stopping, tread water for two minutes without the use of hands and retrieve a 10lb object from pool bottom. In addition to the in-water time, you will be required to read and study your textbook and complete online homework.

Registration: Friday, January 7-Friday, March 11, 2022

  • Monday-Wednesday (Must attend all days)

CLASS 2: 

Registration: Friday, January 7-Friday, March 25, 2022

Fee:$150

  • Friday, April 8; Friday, April 15; and Friday, April 22
  • Fridays only (Must attend all days)
  • Central High School Pool, 216 E. Orman Ave. 81004
  • 12:30pm-6:30pm


LIFEGUARD RECERTIFICATION: 

Registration: Monday, March 14-Friday, April 29, 2022

Fee:$95

  • Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14
  • City Park Pool, 221 S. Parkside Ln. 81005
  • Friday, May 13 3:30pm-7:30pm
  • Saturday, May 14 10:00am-2:30pm
