Lifeguard Certification Classes

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification classes are for anyone wanting to be a lifeguard. After the successful completion of the class you will be certified in lifeguarding, CPR, AED and First Aid for the professional rescuer. Successful applicants will also be encouraged to apply for a lifeguard position with the City of Pueblo. 

 Pre-requisites: must be at least 15 years old; must be able to swim 150 yards of front crawl and 150 yards of breaststroke without stopping, tread water for two minutes without the use of hands and retrieve a 10lb object from pool bottom. In addition to the in-water time, you will be required to read and study your textbook and complete online homework before they can attend the in-person learning to complete their certification.

Registration: Monday, January 2 - Friday, March 10, 2023

Fee: $150

  • Monday-Wednesday (Must attend all days)

CLASS 2: 

Registration: Monday, January 2 - Friday, March 24, 2023

Fee: $150

  • Friday, April 7; Friday, April 14; and Friday, April 21, 2023
  • Fridays only (Must attend all days)

  • 10:00am-6:00pm


LIFEGUARD RECERTIFICATION: 

Registration: Monday, March 13 - Friday, May 13, 2023

Fee: $95

  • Saturday, May 13 
  • City Park Pool, 221 S. Parkside Ln. 81005
  • 10:00am-2:30pm
