On August 8, 2013 around 2:30 in the morning, Officer Brian Laut observed a silver Pontiac with a broken tail lamp. The vehicle was driving down Northern Ave protruding a bright white light from the broken brake light cover. A traffic stop was performed and it was learned that Jake Jones (age 29), Kathleen Kubiak (age 30) and Paul Marceleno (age 24) were the vehicles occupants. The occupants were covered in mud, as was the car and its interior.
Upon speaking with the occupants, Officer Laut could see there were five flat screen televisions inside the vehicle.
After a thorough investigation, and after making contact with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Department, it was discovered that the still under construction Snap Fitness in Pueblo West had been burglarized.
There were several tools from the construction site in the vehicle and officers discovered narcotics as well.
All parties were transported to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Department where they were to be interviewed further.
The Pueblo Police Department would like to commend Officer Laut for his skillful observation and keen investigative skills that led to the discovery of the burglary and seizure of narcotics. Good Job!
