Pueblo Police Department Investigates Eighth Homicide of 2025
Pueblo, CO― On August 6, 2025, at approximately 3:08 a.m., the Pueblo Police Department’s Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) ShotSpotter technology detected gunfire in the 200 block of Mesa Avenue. Pueblo PD officers were dispatched to the scene and located seven shell casings. Officers were subsequently notified that an adult male with a gunshot wound was left at a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
This marks the City's eighth homicide of 2025; there were 15 homicides year-to-date in 2024. The Pueblo County Coroner will release the identity of the victim after notifying the appropriate parties.
Detectives from the Pueblo Police Department's Crimes Against Persons Section and Crime Scene Investigations Section responded promptly to investigate the incident. A nearby RTCC camera captured video footage of the event, which is assisting in the investigation and the search for suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
