Pueblo Police Department Investigates Fifth Homicide of 2025
Pueblo, CO― On May 28, 2025, at approximately 7:03 a.m., Pueblo Police responded to a report of shots fired and an injured person at the 1000 block of Ruppel St. at the Belmont Manor Apartments.
Officers arrived on the scene and located a 46-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound. Officers attempted lifesaving efforts and the victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The Pueblo County Coroner will identify the deceased victim after appropriate notifications. This marks the City’s fifth homicide in 2025.
Detectives from the Crimes Against Persons Division arrived quickly and took over the investigation. The shooter and witnesses on scene were interviewed, and the investigation is ongoing with no determination of charges at the time of this release.
A homicide is defined as the killing of one person by another. This classification does not indicate a determination of lawfulness.
