Open Letter to the People of Pueblo and the Police Department:
During a recent trip from Santa Fe to Boulder, we were involved in a minor fender-bender. Unfortunately that accident was in the construction zone on I-25 and traffic was merging and backed up badly. It took a little while for the police to arrive due to the traffic jam. Office Patrick O. Fleming and an associate arrived and handled the situation with a calm, friendly and professional approach that reduced the anxiety and stress. It was as thought we found a friend in the mist of what seemed like chaos to us. If I ever need police help again, I hope the one that comes is like Officer Fleming. You are probably saying "You did not get a ticket". That would be wrong. My brother was driving, but yes we did get a ticket.
I have not had many dealings with the police but Officer Fleming was far from the stereotype so often portrayed in the media.
He was most courteous. I am glad that the Pueblo Police Department has found men like Officer Fleming.
