The Pueblo Police Department would like to commend Police Cpl. Bill Wells for his efforts in assisting an individual who was stranded in Pueblo Recently.
Recently, during Cpl. Wells normal patrol duties, he was sent to a traffic accident at Highway 50 and Elizabeth. There he encountered an accident involving a truck towing a horse trailer. The trailer was occupied by one horse, which was not injured.
The male driver of the vehicle was from out of town with no way to move the trailer. The responding tow company had no equipment available to tow a gooseneck trailer and traffic in the area was congested.
Cpl. Wells made arrangements to use his personal vehicle to tow the gooseneck trailer form the scene.
In addition, Cpl. Wells took the horse to a stable he was familiar with and arranged for the horse to be temporarily stabled at that location until the owner could secure alternate transportation.
Cpl. Wells is to be commended for his actions and outstanding representation of a Pueblo Police officer. We commend him for his efforts in assisting a stranded traveler in Pueblo and are proud of his actions.
