Recently Pueblo Police Corporal Bill Wells volunteered his free time in El Paso County to help rescue large animals that were stranded or displaced as a result of the Black Forest Fire. Corporal Wells was a longtime member of the Department’s Mounted Patrol Unit and he is very passionate about horses. Corporal Wells put his large animal rescue training to work during the emergency, helping to rescue large animals and working at the emergency animal shelter locations. Corporal Wells plans on spending his next set of days off doing the same thing. Corporal Wells’ efforts are to be commended.
