Officer-Involved Shooting with Multiple Injured Pueblo Police Officers
Pueblo, CO- On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at approximately 7:12 p.m., Pueblo Police received a shots-fired call in the area of Mesa Avenue and Cedar Street regarding a report that a Pueblo Police Department officer had been shot. Pueblo Police officers and Pueblo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and engaged a suspect and additional shots were fired.
The suspect fled the area on foot and continued shooting at officers and they returned fire in response. The suspect was injured in the exchange of gunfire. Officers rendered medical aid; however, the suspect was declared deceased on scene.
All three injured officers were transported to a local hospital and are in stable condition. No members of the public were injured during the incident. Pueblo Police and PCSO worked to secure the area to ensure the safety of the public. A law enforcement presence is expected to remain in the area for several hours.
The 10th Judicial District CIRT (Critical Incident Response Team), led by Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been activated and will conduct the investigation. The Pueblo County Coroner will identify the deceased suspect after appropriate notifications.
