
On July 10, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Pueblo Police Department received information of a 17-year-old male who was taken to a local area hospital with a gunshot wound and was in serious condition. Officers were able to determine the male was possibly shot at a residence in the 2400 block of Lake Ave. Suspect information was developed, and officers attempted to contact 19-year-old Mariah Jaramillo at the residence. After several attempts by officers and Negotiators to have Jaramillo exit the residence without success, a search warrant for the residence was drafted and granted. The Pueblo Police Department SWAT Team responded to the scene to assist in contacting Jaramillo. Eventually, Jaramillo was contacted and taken into custody peacefully.
Jaramillo was later transferred to the Pueblo County Detention Center and booked in on charges of Assault in the first degree, Domestic Violence, and Violation of a protection order. The juvenile male remains in serious condition.
