On Friday, May 10th, 2024, at approximately 5:45 P.M., Pueblo Police Detectives were in the area of Lake Avenue and Pueblo Boulevard when they observed a male, whom they knew had active warrants, exit a vehicle, and enter a convenience store. Detectives, with assistance of patrol officers, attempted to contact the male as he exited the store.
The male began to flee on foot as he grabbed a firearm from his waistband. After a brief struggle, the male was placed into custody and the firearm in his waistband was recovered.
Inside the suspect’s vehicle, in plain view, was another firearm, tactical body armor, and what appeared to be methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.
The suspect’s vehicle was towed and six-time convicted felon, Joshua Trujillo (35), was booked into Pueblo County Detention Center for Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (POWPO). Additional charges are likely pending, following the execution of a search warrant on Trujillo’s vehicle.
