
Shooting Investigation Becomes Homicide Investigation
On Sunday, January 7, 2024, at approximately 3:12 P.M. officers responded to the 1200 block of Catalpa Street for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult male who appeared to have a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. During the investigation, officers were told a second victim had been given a ride to a local hospital. Communications Personnel advised officers that a local hospital had just called and reported an unknown aged male, who had apparent gunshot wounds, had been dropped off. Medical personnel attempted to treat the male at the hospital, but the male succumbed to his injuries. Detectives were notified and are conducting this investigation as a homicide.
This is an ongoing investigation. Updates and information will be released as they become available.
The deceased male will be identified by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office at the appropriate time.
