Over the past several months, Pueblo Police Property Crimes detectives have been investigating numerous motor vehicle thefts, more specifically numerous Kia and Hyundai thefts. These investigations have led to the recovery of numerous stolen vehicles from the cities of Pueblo, Fountain, and Colorado Springs. During these investigations, detectives identified a group of juvenile suspects, both male and female. These juveniles are in the age range of 12-15 years old. During this investigation, it was learned these juveniles referred to themselves as “The Kia Boys”.
Arrest warrants were sought and obtained for eight juveniles. The charges against these juveniles include motor vehicle theft, robbery, and criminal mischief. As of this date, five out of the eight have been arrested on these warrants, booked into juvenile detention facilities, and in accordance with state law, subsequently released on monitoring devices.
A 15-year-old male who is part of the “Kia Boys” was arrested on eight separate counts of motor vehicle theft. This same 15-year-old male was named as a suspect in a shooting that occurred in the city of Pueblo on August 17th, 2023. Pueblo Police Persons Crimes detectives investigated this incident and subsequently sought and obtained an arrest warrant for this juvenile for attempted first degree murder. On this date, this juvenile was arrested for his attempted murder warrant and was booked into a juvenile detention facility.
