The Pueblo Police Department would like to commend Corporal William Wells for his efforts in working with some less fortunate children in Pueblo.
Cpl. Wells has been spending time every Wednesday working with the La Gente Youth Sports Mentoring/Tutoring Program located at 2804 E. 12th St. He is involved with students ranging from 2nd grade to 12th grade. He has been serving as a role model and helping them with homework, activities, games and listening.
The program is designed to help less fortunate school aged children who are doing poorly in school and who do not have the help they need at home to succeed.
It is for the Humanitarian effort of Cpl. Wells that we commend him for the outstanding efforts he is making within our community. Good Job!
Anyone who wishes to become a mentor/role model for any of these children can call Officer Shelly Taylor at 719-553-2418 in our Community Services Division for more information.
