Pursuit Ends in Successful Rescue of Kidnapping Victim and Arrest of Suspect
Pueblo, CO― On December 26, 2024, at approximately 3:54 a.m., Pueblo Police officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of East 12th Street on a report of a kidnapping in progress. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party who stated Stevie Flores, 33, left in a vehicle with his ex-girlfriend. The female’s family was concerned for her safety and called 9-1-1.
Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted to make a stop. The suspect fled and out of concern for the safety of the female a pursuit was initiated. The suspect fled northbound on Interstate 25. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Fountain Police Department, and Colorado State Patrol were called in to assist. The vehicle was successfully stopped via tactical vehicle intervention on Las Vegas Street in Colorado Springs.
Flores was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Pueblo County Detention Center. He has been charged with 2nd Degree Kidnapping, Domestic Violence, Vehicular Eluding, Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and warrants for Criminal Impersonation- Cause Liability, and Failure to Appear.
Thanks to the quick actions of Pueblo Police officers, dispatchers, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Fountain Police Department, and Colorado State Patrol the female victim was safely rescued and transported back to Pueblo.
