Fatal Traffic Accident on Westbound Pueblo Blvd
Pueblo, CO- On December 19, 2024, at approximately 2:18 a.m., Pueblo Police Department officers were dispatched to westbound Pueblo Blvd between Vinewood Ln. and O’neal Ave. for a single vehicle accident with fatalities. The Traffic Investigation Unit and Investigations Division were also dispatched to further investigate and process the scene.
Upon arrival, officers located an SUV in the backyard of a home on Taylor Ln. The initial investigation indicated the vehicle was travelling westbound on Pueblo Blvd, and as the road bends toward the north, left the roadway at a high rate of speed striking a guardrail on the west side of the road, and careened through multiple backyards prior to coming to a rest.
Two occupants, including the driver, were declared deceased at the scene. Two additional occupants were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Speed and alcohol are considered factors in the crash. Identities of the deceased will be released by the Pueblo County Coroner after appropriate notifications.
Pueblo Blvd has been reopened in both directions for normal flow of traffic.
