
On April 12, 2024, at approx. 1:00 A.M., Detectives from the Special Investigations Division observed 28-year-old Jaime Garcia exit his vehicle in the 0-100 block of Duke Street. While attempting to contact Garcia, He took off running. After a short foot pursuit and a brief struggle, Jamie was placed in handcuffs.
Detectives located a loaded firearm, a large amount of cash and a few pills after taking Garcia into custody. During the foot pursuit, Garcia dropped a cell phone and a plastic bag containing 267 grams (approximately 2670 pills) of suspected fentanyl.
Concurrently to Garcia’s foot pursuit, Detectives observed a second vehicle pull into the driveway of the home where Garcia had exited his vehicle. The occupants exited and ran inside the residence. The second vehicle had a firearm, cash and what appeared to be methamphetamine inside.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene and Garcia was charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (POWPO), Unlawful Distribution of Schedule II, Special Offender, Driving an Unregistered Vehicle, and Resisting Arrest.
