PUEBLO—Walking Stick Golf Course was recently named the number one public golf course in Southern Colorado by Colorado AvidGolfers readers in the Best of Colorado Golf CAGGYs 2026. Thousands of readers and golfer voted for the “Best Southern Course” where Walking Stick Golf Course rose to the top.
“This is an honor to see readers and golfers vote Walking Stick Golf Course at the top of the Southern Colorado golf list with Colorado AvidGolfer,” said Director of Parks and Recreation Steven Meier. “Dave Lewis, the head pro and his team are very hard-working and keep that course in great shape year-round for golfers to enjoy.”
Walking Stick is described and one of Pueblo’s pre-eminent public golf facilities and the leading major tournament venue in Pueblo. The golf course provides guests with a unique opportunity to play Southern Colorado’s most famous layouts, in a serene environment on outstandingly presented playing surfaces. The golf course was established in 1991.

Readers and golfers voted Kissing Camels at Garden of the Gods and County Club of Colorado at Cheyenne Mountain Resort second and third respectively. Staff picks included in the “Best Southern Course” category included Four Mile Ranch Golf Club, King’s Deer Golf Club and Rio Grande Golf Course.

Walking Stick Golf Course is affordable with weekday green fees start at $37, with a senior rate at $33. Weekend cost for 18 holes is $45. Twilight and nine-hole fees are $22.
