Special Services Division
The Special Services Division of the Pueblo Police Department consists of the Community Services Division, Internal Affairs Section, School Resource Officer Section and Training Section.

The Community Services Division can best be described as a concentrated effort to connect with the community and enhance the department by making use of "new" concepts, technology and resources. The division consists of the following functions:
- Accreditation
- Crime Prevention Unit
- Policy Development
- Public Relations (Public Information Officer)
- Volunteer Services

Internal Affairs Section
The Internal Affairs Section exists to ensure the integrity of the Pueblo Police Department. It is the responsibility of the Internal Affairs Section to ensure that intensive, impartial investigation of complaints are conducted in a manner that provides for objectivity, fairness, and justice for all parties associated with the complaint. The Section is staffed by 2 sergeants who are responsible for the internal affairs function and who perform their duties with the authority of the Chief of Police.

School Resource Officer Section
The officers assigned to the School Resource Officer (SRO) Section are responsible for safety and law enforcement at 34 schools in Pueblo. There is 1 SRO assigned to each of the 4 high schools and 6 middle schools in Pueblo City Schools. Those officers also have the responsibility for assigned elementary schools within the city.
The SRO Section is responsible for the following:
- Conflict Resolution with Students
- Handle All of the Schools' Law Enforcement Needs
- Implementation of Safety Crisis Plans and Conducting Lock-Down Drills
- Investigate the Cases they Generate to a Successful Completion
- Weekly Check-ins With Surrounding Elementary Schools

Training Section
The mission of the Training Section is to provide or facilitate training opportunities for all employees of the Pueblo Police Department. The Training Section consists of 1 sergeant, 2 officers and assigned clerical staff.
The Training Section is responsible for the following:
- Department Training Functions
- Keeping Track of Outside Training
- Pueblo Police Department Law Enforcement Academy
- The Citizen's Academy (in both English and Spanish)
- The Park Ranger Academy
- The Pueblo Police Department Explorer Academy
- Quarterly In-Service Training

Police Support Technician Unit (Code Enforcement Unit)
The Police Support Technician Unit is tasked with the enforcement of Municipal ordinances that deal with quality of life issues pertaining to health and sanitation.
The Police Support Technician Unit is responsible for the following: handling complaints about solid waste (litter), junk vehicles and weeds, abatement of the properties in violation, issuance of summons into Municipal Court, and rendering assistance to other units of the Police Department and other city departments.
