Sample comment to Public Utilities Commission
I am deeply concerned and angry about the recent proposed rate increase from Black Hills Energy. This could increase my monthly electric bill by $20! We already pay more on average than Colorado Springs and Denver. Additionally, this increase would affect commercial businesses too thus costing me more on my purchases. People in Pueblo cannot afford that! This will in turn bankrupt some of the businesses, or they will leave Pueblo for cities with cheaper electric rates. These increased rates will also cause more chance for eviction and housing insecurity, which Pueblo experiences already. We have had too many increases in the past. Is this what our future looks like? Increase after increase.
Enough is Enough.
