On February 1, 2026 at approximately 4:33 p.m., Pueblo police officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Carlee Drive (Briarwood Park) regarding a careless, reckless driver.
Upon arrival, officers learned a light-colored sedan was parked on the south end of the park and then drove through the park attempting to hit a group of juveniles. The vehicle drove recklessly, nearly hitting several juveniles. The juveniles ran to escape the vehicle. The victims and witnesses described the vehicle as a light-colored sedan having the rear passenger window taped up, occupied by four individuals.
On February 2, 2026, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers were conducting follow-up investigations on stolen vehicles. Officers observed a stolen Hyundai Sonata during their investigation, which matched the suspect vehicle description from the aforementioned attempted vehicular assault.
Officers deployed a tire deflation device on the stolen Hyundai Sonata. The driver attempted to evade officers on Northern Avenue, striking one vehicle and then driving into oncoming traffic, hitting another vehicle. The stolen Hyundai became inoperable due to the damage at W. Northern Avenue and E. Evans Avenue. The stolen vehicle was occupied by three juvenile males. All three occupants were transported to the hospital for treatment.
