Whitewater Park
The Whitewater Park or as known as The Kayak Park, is located in downtown Pueblo. It is within walking distance of shops and restaurants in the Historic Downtown District between Union Ave. and the West 4th Street Bridge.
The park has eight (8) drops and is approximately 1/2 mile long. The names of the drops and pools reflect the paintings, Drop 3 is a rabbit, Drop 5 is raccoons. The north bank of the river is home to the Pueblo Levee Mural Project.
The main access is from Pillar Park via Chapa Place, take out is at Union Ave. There is also a parking lot located on the southside of the trail located at the Main St. Trailhead on Corona Ave. and Main Street. Parking along Corona Street and walking down to the river is also an option. Please take note, this is a real river and not an amusement play park.
Warning: Whitewater boating in a river is a hazardous activity. All boaters using this facility and park do so at their own risk.
Life Jackets are required by state law.
Skill Required:
- Scout chutes before using.
- Paddle responsibility.
- Helmets and cold-water clothing are strongly recommended.
- Stay on established trails and rocks.
- Dispose of trash properly.
- No glass containers.
