City of Pueblo Public Works Director Earl Wilkinson says yesterday’s heavy rainfall as well as the possibility of more heavy rain today has raised the threat of flooding along the Creek. Therefore, city crews have placed barricades along the pedestrian walkways, prohibiting foot traffic for the remainder of Thursday into Friday morning.
The city of Colorado Springs received one of his heaviest rainfalls in years Wednesday and the runoff from that rain could make its way south to the Pueblo community.
Wilkinson says the situation will be assessed over the next few hours and a decision will be made later today as to if the barricades will be removed tomorrow.
