The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed by the U.S. Congress to provide a comprehensive mandate for the elimination of discrimination against individuals with disabilities and to provide standards which address discrimination against individuals with disabilities.
July 26th marks the 21st anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. As part of the City of Pueblo’s ongoing curb ramp construction projects and in recognition of the ADA anniversary, the City is looking for public input on where additional, accessible curb ramps may be needed at community street corners. The end result of additional curb ramps will boost access to al city programs services for all, regardless of disability.
Recommendation forms are available at the City of Public Works Department located at 211 E. D Street. People submitting recommendations should include the exact location, street intersections, and why they feel a curb ramp is needed there.
Requests must be returned to the Public Works Department.
