In anticipation of Veterans Day 2012, The City of Pueblo Parks Division began rehabilitation of the Vietnam Memorial located on 26th Street and Elizabeth Street. Brent Harr, is the caretaker who oversees the memorial park submitted a plan to management to rehab the park and honor veterans and show them the parks division cares about their commitment to their county. Brent along with fellow workers Jeremiah Storrer, David Hooten and Nate Alcon installed the breeze and border in the picture above. The team is in the process of making additional upgrades to the area to include plans to rotor-tilling, weeding and seeding the area with new grass. Brent and the rest of the team respect what the veterans have done and continue to do for our country. The fact that Pueblo is listed as "America's Home Of Heroes", due the city's distinction of being the only city in America (at that time) with as many as FOUR living recipients of the Medal of Honor also adds importance to the need to refurbish the Vietnam Memorial in advance of Veterans Day.
