[ARCHIVED] Mayor launches poster contest to kick off 2021 Pueblo Classic Bike Race

PUEBLO – Today, to kick off the Inaugural 2021 Pueblo Classic Bike Race to be held in April, Mayor Nick Gradisar launched the 2021 Pueblo Bike Race Poster Contest.

“To launch the Inaugural Pueblo Classic Bike Race, I want one of our many talented Puebloans to highlight the best of city and set the tone for this event and how we see Pueblo,” said Mayor Nick Gradisar. “By April, I believe Pueblo will be able ready to host a socially distanced Pueblo Classic Bike Race as a signal that things are slowly returning to normal.”

The City of Pueblo is seeking poster designs from local artists to express the Pueblo Classic but also develop iconic imagery for Pueblo. The selected winner will receive $1000 for his or her work.

A selection panel from the Pueblo Arts Alliance, BloBack Gallery, John Deaux Gallery, Create Art Studio and the Mayor’s Office will select a winner based the design best representing Pueblo, bike racing and the highlighting the natural wonder of the city.

The project is open to artists or design teams who reside or do their artistic work in Pueblo County or surrounding areas. Applicants should be 18 years of age.

The Pueblo Classic Bike Race will take place April 24 and 25.

www.puebloarts.org. For additional information and how to apply please contact karen@puebloarts.org. The deadline to apply is February 19, 2021 and is open to individuals 18 and older.

Pueblo Classic Bike Race winner will be announced February 23, 2021.

The 2020 Pueblo Classic Bike Race was cancelled due to COVID-19. 2021’s race will follow all COVID-19 restrictions required at the time.
