PUEBLO – On Friday October 30, 2020 at 9 a.m. a crane will hoist a made-in-Pueblo Trane Chiller atop a mechanical building expansion for the Senior Resource Development Agency (SRDA). The building expansion will enable the continuation of the Meals on Wheels Program serving Pueblo and the surrounding communities along with the many senior activities that take place at the SRDA building.
The existing mechanical assets located within the SRDA building were past their useful life and needed to be replaced in order to keep the building operational. With combined sponsorships the City of Pueblo, Pueblo County, Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), Gates Foundation, and others the building improvement project was made possible. Improvements include an upgraded HVAC system will be able to eliminate costly maintenance repairs generated from the old system, provide better comfort to building occupants while saving 8% on their electrical costs and 13% on their natural gas costs.
The generosity and support of these organizations has contributed to the preservation of SRDA’s mission for the senior community within a sustainable space. Thanks to the group of sponsors, the building upgrade allows more members to be served in the surrounding area that’s been a tradition since 1971.
SRDA is passionate on the making a difference in the community and is dedicated to provide seniors a variety of recreational and social activities. At a time when social distancing and lock downs are established within many communities, it is most important to remain connected to seniors. Beyond maintenance savings, the building expansion allows SRDA programs to continue to support the senior population and improve their quality of life.
