2012 3CMA Award of Excellence

International Marketing Group honors Pueblo website with Award of Excellence.

The City of Pueblo has taken honors in an international competition among government websites.

About the Awards
The city's website won the Award of Excellence in the 2012 Savvy Awards, sponsored by the City - County Communications and Marketing Association, or 3CMA, in the Digital Interactive - Overall Website Category.

3CMA was founded in 1988, by a few government officials who realized that the deliverance of information by government bodies was becoming more complex, and that governments would need to become more competitive with the private sector to deliver their messages.

Today, 3CMA is considered one of the leading organizations for local governments in researching and presenting new and better ways to communicate with citizens.

"Our website continues to work to meet the needs of our customers, the residents of the City of Pueblo," says Information Technology Director Lori Pinz. "Awards such as this assure us that we are doing something right, but also remind us that we need to continue to evolve to provide topnotch service to our customers."

The Savvy Awards
The Savvy Awards are an annual competition with awards presented for creative and successful programs. They are presented in 16 categories with 39 subcategories ranging from communication and marketing tools, graphic design to marketing processes.

3CMA says the entries are divided into population groups, and then judged by government marketing professionals. Pueblo placed in the category for populations from 50,000 to 108,000.

Award of Excellence
In presenting the Award of Excellence, judges praised Pueblo saying 'the overall look of this site is an eye catcher. It keeps users enticed to keep searching the site to find out more about Pueblo.' The judges also liked the placement of secondary access icons throughout the entire site, the pictures of directors and contact information on each department page, and the site's "Resident Help Center."

This is the 3rd award the City of Pueblo has won in the past year for its government website. Media Systems Administrator Bob Cuomo says that he's very proud of the reputation the website is building.

"It's a proud moment when all the hard work and dedication pays off," he says. "It's great to be recognized because we all worked hard. But we also know we have a lot of hard work ahead of us."
