City of Pueblo Launches Your Idea Your Neighborhood

PUEBLO—The City of Pueblo announced the call for residents to submit their ideas for Your Idea Your Neighborhood on Friday, Dec. 1. This project creates ownership and genuine participation in city government by neighborhoods and residents through the allocation of city resources in the total of $1 million funding.

“We are excited to announce the opening of the applications for our residents to begin submitting projects and ideas of how to improve Pueblo,” said Mayor of Pueblo Nick Gradisar. “A bench, a light pole or some other kind of amenity that is needed in Pueblo is important to us, and we know our residents will come up with creative and necessary ideas to elevate our neighborhoods.”

Residents can submit their ideas online through the City of Pueblo website at or pick up a paper application in the Mayor’s Office located at One City Hall Place on the second floor of City Hall. Your Idea Your Neighborhood project applications are open from Dec. 1, 2023, through Jan. 31, 2024.

As residents are putting together project ideas, City departments will be made available to assist with feasibility or cost assessments. Residents, neighborhood organizations and others can contact to ask questions about the logistics of their projects in order to submit a more complete application with verified cost estimates, sustainability options or other details needed to support their ideas.

All projects submitted for Your Idea Your Neighborhood will be scored by residents themselves, as two individuals from each district and one “at-large” member will comprise a nine-person review committee. The review committee will evaluate projects based on complexity, community benefit, equity, due diligence with city departments, cost and evidence of sustainability.

Upon the deadline of project applications being received through January 31, the applications will be scored by the nine-person review committee during the months of February and March. Projects selected to be funded with the $1 million available for capital improvement projects will be notified at the end of March 2024. Projects may begin as soon as April 2024 with anticipated completion no later than December 2025 depending on complexity of the project.
