On April 3, 2023, at approximately 7:00 A.M., officers were dispatched to a call involving a Motor Vehicle Theft in the 3300 block of Morris Avenue. The driver momentarily left the vehicle unattended. The driver returned to see someone driving off with the vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle in the drive-through of a local restaurant on Pueblo’s south side. The driver, 24-year-old Izia Weybright, fled the vehicle on foot heading eastbound across Pueblo Boulevard where he was taken into custody without incident a short distance away. Officers searched Weybright and located a .22 caliber revolver hidden in his boot.
Weybright was booked into Pueblo County Jail for 1st Degree Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, Felony Criminal Mischief, Reckless Endangerment, and three Restraining Order Violations. He also had a Contempt of Court warrant for Motor Vehicle Theft and a warrant for Unauthorized Absence.
