PUEBLO –The Pueblo City Council is seeking letters of interest and resumes from individuals wishing to be considered for appointment to continue the term for Councilmanic District 4, vacated by the passing of Councilman Ray Aguilera.
Interested individuals must be citizens of the United States, shall have resided in the City for twelve (12) consecutive months, and must be a resident of District 4 for ten (10) days immediately before appointment. The person appointed must remain a resident of District 4 throughout the term of office. For a more specific outline of boundaries for District 4, contact the City Clerk’s Office or visit the City of Pueblo’s Website at www.pueblo.us.
The City Charter prohibits anyone who has been convicted of a felony, who holds any other elective public office, or who is an employee of the City of Pueblo to be considered as a candidate. A background check will be conducted.
The person appointed shall hold the office until December 31, 2021. The remainder of the term will be filled by the person elected by the people of District 4 in the next General Municipal Election on November 2, 2021; that elected person will serve from January 1, 2022—December 31, 2023.
All letters of interest and resumes must be in the possession of the City Clerk’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021.
