The Pueblo City Council is seeking letters of interest and resumes from individuals wishing to serve on the BOARD OF WATER WORKS.
The Board of Water Works has and exercises all powers which are granted to cities of the first-class by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Colorado, except the power to levy and collect taxes directly or indirectly. The Board has the power to make and execute contracts in the name of the City, institute and defend all litigation affecting its powers and duties or in relation to the water works system, and as to all other property under its management.
Interested individuals must be citizens of the United States, shall have resided in the City for at least twelve (12) consecutive months immediately preceding the appointment, and shall be a resident and qualified elector of the City of Pueblo at the time of the appointment. The City Charter prohibits anyone to be considered as a candidate who has been convicted of a felony, or who holds any other elective public office, or who is an employee of the City of Pueblo.
Any person appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold the office until the next general municipal election (2019) when the vacancy shall be filled by election to complete the term expiring December 31, 2021.
Letters of interest and resumes will be accepted until 8:00 a.m. February 19, 2019. Finalists will be interviewed by the City Council. You may personally deliver or mail your letters of interest and resumes to the Office of the City Clerk, #1 City Hall Place, Pueblo, CO 81003, or you can email them to Tammy Martinez in the Office of the City Clerk at email@example.com.
Letters of interest and resumes must be received by the City Clerk’s office on or before the deadline.
