The City of Pueblo and the Colorado Department of Transportation announced that as part of the Northern Avenue Trail Replacement and Streetscape Project, a traffic shift on the west bound Northern Avenue Parkway will be in place beginning Monday, April 17th. The City said west bound traffic will be shifted onto the inside lane beginning at 6 a.m. Monday.
West bound traffic will be reduced to a single lane and speeds will be reduced to 25 mph.
The shift is required for removal and replacement of a recreational trail to occur on the north side of the parkway.
The rerouted traffic pattern is expected to remain in place for three to four weeks.
City said this new traffic configuration will be in place during construction.
Normal working hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Slight traffic delays are to be expected, and motorists are urged to use extra caution while traveling in the new traffic pattern.
The Northern Avenue Trail Replacement and Streetscape Project is the second phase of a two phase trail replacement and beautification project.
Construction includes replacing over 4,000 linear feet of trail and the construction of decorative landscaped medians.
The project will begin April 17th and will be completed by mid June 2017.
South Side Lawn and Landscaping, LLC was contracted by the City to complete the $533,000 project.
