The Pueblo City Council is seeking volunteers who are professionals in preservation-related disciplines such as architecture, landscape architecture, architectural history, archaeology, history, planning, American studies, American civilization, cultural geography or cultural anthropology and who would be interested in serving on the HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION. The available terms are as follows:
The Historic Preservation Commission advises and assists owners of landmarks with financial aspects of preservation, renovation, rehabilitation, procedures for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places, Colorado Register of Historic Properties and designation as landmarks of historic districts, reviews applications for designation of landmarks or historic districts, issues or denies certificates of appropriateness, demolition permits, or certificates of economic hardship affecting designated landmarks or elements within a designated historic district, prepares and maintains a register of landmarks and historic districts. Tenants or real property owners from the Historic Business Zone District are encouraged to apply
Volunteers MUST be Residents of the City of Pueblo for ONE (1) year prior to appointment and are subject to an interview process conducted by City Council. No member shall serve more than 2 successive terms
