Please join us for the kick-off event for the 2021 InSights & InPerson / Connections series featuring Brendan Picker-Mahoney, Public Art Program Administrator for Denver Arts & Venues. This program will reflect on the 2020 initiative - "Queer City of the Plains: An Artistic Look at Denver's LBGTQ History" - that included five contemporary art installations focusing on storytelling, camp, resistance, and the LGBTQ+ experience in Denver from 1859 to the present. Brendan Picker-Mahoney has been managing public art projects for ten years, first with the City of Albuquerque, and then for the City/County of Denver. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and a Master’s Degree in Community Planning, he loves the intersection of art and public policy. He has a passion for both the public process and the creative process and his main goal is increasing access to art for all. Image credit: Dae Ann Knight from Dae + Knight Design.
