Position: Field Work

Pueblo Police Department, Pueblo Area

General Description:

Field Work supports patrol functions by finding illegally parked vehicles in handicap parking spaces within the city of Pueblo and issuing the appropriate citation.

Responsibilities:

You will support patrol by writing tickets for illegally parked vehicles in handicap parking spaces. You will also need to have availability to appear in court if necessary to testify about parking tickets.

Time Requirements:

weekly, 2+ hours a week

Training:

You will be trained by a patrol officer and current field work volunteers on how to identify illegal parking, how to use a radio and how to write citations. You will also be coached on appearing in court if necessary. 

Qualifications:

You will need to be able to drive a vehicle. You will also need to have the capacity to deal with confrontational people by using de-escalating techniques. It is important that you can gather date and take photos if necessary.
