Special Victims Unit
The detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit are responsible for investigating crimes committed against persons deemed to be "special victims". Special victims can include children under the age of 18, elderly over the age of 65 and those with mental in-capacities.

The Special Victims Unit is responsible for investigating the following:
  • Abuse or Fraud against the Elderly
  • Child Abduction
  • Child Abuse
  • Child Death
  • Child Sexual Assault
  • Domestic Violence cases
  • High-Tech Crimes (Computer Crimes)
  • Internet Sex Crimes against Children
  • Neglect of Children or the Elderly
  • Runaways
