The City of Pueblo celebrated the opening of the
Arkansas River Legacy Project on May 6. The project costs more than $9 million
and was the results of work by several local, state, and federal agencies. The
Legacy Project guarantees an array of recreational opportunities for those in
southern Colorado including kayaking, rafting, and fishing. People can also
picnic along the banks of the Arkansas River.
Hundreds of people participated in the two day opening
which included free raft rides, demonstrations, and exhibitions on Saturday, May
