    The Diamond Standard course is a success and relationship education series designed to equip youth and emerging adults with psychosocial skills and resources to promote a promising future. Participants learn how to effectively communicate, resolve conflict, identify patterns of behavior, be strategic in goal setting and to live life with intention. They are taught that failure isn't permanent and although our past has an influence on our life, it does not define our future or our capabilities. Regardless of wherever anyone is on their journey through life, it's the attitude of pressing onward that reflects the hidden treasure of a diamond in the rough.

  3. Colorado Leading Edge: Entrepreneur Training Program

    September 3, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ TBA (Pueblo)

    Are you in the process or starting a business or just recently began operations? Then this training opportunity is for you! The Colorado Leading Edge Program is a 11 week certified program (meets every Thursday for 11 weeks) that helps move your business to the next level. This comprehensive entrepreneur training and business plan development course provides business owners expert guidance in the areas of start-up requirements, management, marketing, finance, personnel, cash flow, and much more. Each participant will receive hands-on assistance in preparing a complete business plan in addition to training and guest speaker presentations. Classes will be held weekly, beginning August 20 through October 29, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Class will be held in Pueblo (location to be announced). Cost is $285 per business and includes all materials. (Discount provided to businesses having multiple reps attending and sharing materials.)

    The Colorado Lottery will present the 2015 Starburst Award for the use of Colorado Lottery dollars to Pueblo City Council President, Steve Nawrocki and Vice President and District #3 Rep., Ed Brown. Check out all the new amenities including: restrooms, accessible walkways, lighting, new shade trees and structures, dog bone-shaped benches, drinking fountains for your furry friend and separate fenced areas for small and large dogs. Following the event at 10am-3pm, let your dog take a swim in the City Park Pool! In between the events meet with a variety of pet product/service businesses.     PuebloPlex Redevelopment Plan Public Meeting Public Meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, September 9th at the Pueblo Convention Center in Pueblo from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and September 10th at the McHarg Park Community Center Gym in Avondale from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. At both meetings the host, PuebloPlex, will be joined by their consultant, Matrix Design Group, who will be presenting an overview of existing conditions, development suitability, and economic and market opportunities. The public is invited to assist and provide input in the development of three preliminary development alternatives for the PuebloPlex Redevelopment Plan. This comprehensive and cooperative planning effort will provide a framework for future development of the nearly 16 000 acres, formally the Pueblo Chemical Depot. Everyone is invited to provide input on the planning process and help craft the vision for the development.

    Raising awareness about a devastating disease affecting over 5 million Americans nationwide, with 65,000 of those living in Colorado alone, the Walk to End Alzheimer's is helping move the Alzheimer's Association of Southern Colorado forward in its efforts and vision of a world without Alzheimer's. Walk to End Alzheimer's unites the entire community -- more than 500 participants that include family, friends, co-workers, social and religious groups and more --- in a display of combined strength and dedication in the fight against this devastating disease. While there is no fee to register, each participant is expected to fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness. The Alzheimer's Association provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help each participant reach their fundraising goal.     Jesus Loves You Pueblo is a free annual outreach event here in Pueblo Colorado taking place SEPTEMBER 12, 2015 at Mineral Palace Park near the half dome stage. It consists of DOZENS of Christian Churches working together to minister as one to bring the message of the Lord to all those that will hear. Everyone is welcome to come to the event and take part in the day of worship, prayer, food, and fun for the entire family! There will be support, help, and communication for EVERYONE that would like to come out and spend the day with us! There is ministry for all ages, kids, teens, and adults. As well as giveaways and donations to all those that are in need! This includes clothing, food, and direction for those looking for a church home as we will have churches there from every part of pueblo!
