The department, in cooperation with the Public Works, designed and coordinated the construction of the Eastern Gateway project located at the intersection of the U.S. Highway 50B, SH 47 and SH 96 (4th St).
The project, constructed by Cedar Ridge Landscape, Inc., included the installation of an irrigation system, grading, installation of 10 acres of western landscape grasses, 837 shrubs and 139 trees. The area is approximately 12 acres.
In 2009, 342 trees and an irrigation system were completed along the perimeter of the project area. City Landscape Architect, Bill Zwick, did an excellent job designing and coordinating the $437,424 project funded with ARRA recovery funds and city general funds.
